Idaho and New Jersey adopted a One Health approach to address environmental health concerns. This approach recognizes the interdependence of human, animal, and environmental well-being. After interviewing staff, ASTHO created two state case studies to share how Idaho and New Jersey have leveraged a One Health approach to tackle complex environmental health issues.
Idaho
In the case study on Idaho, ASTHO highlights the state's efforts to employ a collaborative One Health effort among various agencies to combat recreational lead exposure.
New Jersey
The second case study showcases New Jersey's One Health strategy to combat harmful algal blooms by creating a One Health task force.
In these reports, learn about the partnerships, outreach efforts, challenges, and future opportunities each state anticipates as they have and continue to move forward with a One Health strategy to navigate complex environmental challenges.
