Who Is at the Table? Advancing Equity-Driven Teams

State and territorial health officials and their agencies are committing to advancing health equity and achieving optimal health for all. In order to achieve this goal, ASTHO believes there are critical actions that can be taken to require an intentional and explicit focus on addressing structural racism and acknowledging racism and racial discrimination in public health as a primary issue. This requires effective strategies to formulate the right team of individuals as well as informed action steps to expand engagement efforts with the most relevant agency staff and constituents who are most impacted.
