Environmental Health Programs and Services Portal
In 2019, ASTHO fielded the Environmental Health Programs and Services Survey to environmental health directors within state and territorial health agencies to understand the location of various environmental health services in each jurisdiction.
This dashboard presents comprehensive information about the location of various environmental health programs and services provided by state and territorial health agencies. Aside from Alaska, whose state environmental health director is located in the state’s environmental agency, responses to this survey were provided by state and territorial health agency staff.
Environmental Health Programs and Services Portal Technical Notes: This document provides additional information on the Environmental Health Programs and Services Portal, including a brief overview of each of the three Portal tabs, as well as detailed instructions on how to use each tab. Factsheets
Based on the data from the 2019 Environmental Health Programs and Services Survey, ASTHO created factsheets to highlight some of the key findings for three environmental health topics:
- Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention and Control (PDF)
- Food Safety and Protection (PDF)
- Safe Drinking Water (PDF)
The Environmental Health Programs and Services Portal and corresponding factsheets were supported through cooperative agreement OT18-1802.NU38, Strengthening Public Health Systems and Services through National Partnerships to Improve and Protect the Nation's Health, awarded to the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials and funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Center for Environmental Health and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry.
