Danny Staley Biography
Danny Staley, Senior Vice President for Public Health Programs and Practice brings more than 30 years of public health leadership and experience serving as local health director and state health official in North Carolina. In 2018, Staley joined ASTHO to lead hurricane recovery projects in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Danny oversees and guides working with ASTHO’s many federal and nonprofit partners, which includes providing technical assistance and support to states and island jurisdictions on health equity, Overdose Data to Action (OD2A), increasing access to contraception, reducing healthcare associated infections and many other current public health issues. Danny’s education includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Education and Biology from Appalachian State University, and a Master of Science Degree in Community Health Administration and Wellness. He received additional education at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, Gillings School of Public Health.
