The community engagement series highlights activities, including webinars and videos, fostering breastfeeding equity between state agencies and community organizations. This series underlines the importance of community engagement, pathways, or courses of action to engage communities. It challenges participants to understand and recognize their role in fostering breastfeeding equity. Topics include levels of community engagement, strategies, and systems to enhance community support, efforts to improve the lactation workforce, and sustainability of community breastfeeding centers.

Attendees will hear from the Breastfeeding Center of Greater Washington and the Bloom Collective as they discussing their journey sustaining the center to care for D.C., Maryland, and Virginia residents. Their presentation will include lessons learned and thoughts on how health departments can advance equitable lactation support at their local, state, and national level.
