Meredith Allen, DrPH, MS

Meredith-Allen.jpgMeredith Allen, DrPH, MS, is the vice president of health security at the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO). Allen directs the programmatic designed to address environmental health, preparedness, immunization, and infectious disease policy and program needs of state and territorial health officials and their program staff.

Allen received her doctorate from Drexel University and her master’s degree in Epidemiology from Harvard University. Her years of public health experience as a local government epidemiologist afforded her a detailed understanding of the local public health system, including available resources, mandated activities, and common solutions for frequently identified problems. She has experience working with multiple jurisdictions and agencies, with differing agendas, to develop regional approaches to building strategies that result in final comprehensive planning documents.
