Administrative capacity is integral to public health agencies’ ability to fulfill their day-to-day duties as well as respond to emergencies or crises. Administrative readiness is that capacity for health agencies to adapt to whatever challenges are thrown their way. To become — and stay — ready, public agencies should make sure that their administrative systems, like hiring, contracting, and more, are flexible and responsive.
To help public health agencies create and maintain resilient administrative systems, ASTHO created this tool to allow agencies to assess their operations and determine areas of strength or improvement.
