Breastfeeding and Early Life Nutrition Support

ASTHO provides technical assistance to enhance breastfeeding efforts in three strategy areas:

    1. Increasing practices supportive of breastfeeding in birthing facilities.
    2. Improving access to professional and peer support for breastfeeding.
    3. Ensuring workplace compliance with the federal lactation accommodation law.

The Breastfeeding State Learning Community supports jurisdictions in improving breastfeeding disparity rates and promoting health equity through state and local collaboration.
