Sexually Transmitted Infections

ASTHO supports state and territorial health departments in their mission to prevent and respond to sexually transmitted infections (STIs). In collaboration with CDC and other key partners, ASTHO is engaged in activities to raise awareness about STI issues and needs, reduce stigma, establish and strengthen cross-sector partnerships, and demonstrate the value of infrastructure at the state public health level.

According to the latest data from CDC released in January 2021, one in five people have an STI infection. This video presents state strategies and ASTHO resources that health agencies can use to address the STD epidemic in their jurisdictions.

STD Roadmap

Designed for new state health officials, the STD Roadmap will orient S/THOs to their state STD programs. This 10-minute learning module will provide an overview of the national STD landscape and describe funding sources and policy issues for state STD programs.
