2022 Leadership Check-Up Series

January 12-March 30, 2022
Time varies by date

Our nation is experiencing a collective traumatic event, yet how we each manage this time will determine its individual and collective long-term impact. On Jan. 12th, join us for the first installment of our three-part webinar series entitled National Council and ASTHO Leadership & Workforce Development Webinar Series. This three-part series is designed to continue to support health official’s own wellness, as well as build their capacity to enhance trauma-informed, resilience-oriented, equity-focused practices within their jurisdiction through this unprecedented public health crisis.

Each of the three webinars will have different objectives.

  • Session One: Now What? How to Create Moral Safety in a Shifting World

This one-hour webinar provides public health leaders with an opportunity to understand how the national climate around COVID-19 and social unrest is causing moral injury: the betrayal by people or institutions that should have been trusted to do the right thing. We will also explore how to create moral safety in our workplaces during severe crisis and uncertainty.

A recording of session one is now available on the ASTHO e-Learning Center.

  • Session Two: If not me, who? Public Health Leadership Under Assault

This one-hour webinar provides public health leaders with an appreciation of the challenges of navigating TIROE leadership practices during an international pandemic. We will explore how to balance self-care and personal safety with your leadership role and commitment to your staff.

  • Session Three: What We’ve Learned about Toxic Stress

This one-hour webinar provides public health leaders with an advanced understanding of the pandemic’s generational altering impact. We will explore how to integrate this knowledge into best practices going forward to improve all public health initiatives.
