Minimizing harmful infections in healthcare settings

About

In American hospitals alone, healthcare-associated infections account for an estimated 1.7 million infections and 99,000 associated deaths each year. ASTHO is working with HHS, CDC, the Office of Public Health and Science (OPHS), and the Keystone Center to determine the role of state health officials in decreasing and preventing HAIs, specifically addressing priorities, challenges, and solutions at the state and regional level.
