Community Health Status Indicators (CHSI)

This project presents health and health-related data that can be used by communities to promote physical and mental health and prevent disease, injury, and disability. Many state and local health departments, federal agencies and national organizations use the data to develop comparisons that are not readily available to the majority of local communities. Updated CHSI profiles and a downloadable database are publicly available.

This collaborative activity between ASTHO, the National Association of County and City Health Officials and the Public Health Foundation was funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration, HHS. For more information, please e-mail chsi@phf.org.

Public Health Information Network

ASTHO is a member organization of the electronic Public Health Information Network. This network is transforming public health by enabling real-time data flow, computer-assisted analysis, decision support, professional collaboration, and rapid dissemination of information to public health professionals, the clinical care community and the public.
