A national H1N1 Influenza Preparedness Summit was held by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on July 9, 2009, with participation from President Obama; Secretaries Sebelius, Napolitano, and Duncan; CDC Director Thomas Frieden; and state and local representatives. The summit included an H1N1 situational awareness update; activities and priorities of HHS, DHS, and ED; and panels discussing school preparedness, H1N1 flu preparedness lessons learned from states and localities, and principles of rick communication. State representatives were strongly encouraged to convene similar H1N1 summits in their own states. Below is information for the ten states and one territory who have held, or will hold, their own State H1N1 Preparedness Summits.
