ASTHO Writes to House Budget Committee Opposing Prevention Fund Repeal

Oct. 7, 2015

On September 30, the House Energy and Commerce Committee voted 28-23 to send reconciliation instructions to the House Budget Committee that would repeal the Prevention and Public Health Fund. The Fund provides partial or total funding for such critical public health programs as the Preventive Health and Health Services Block Grant, the Section 317 Immunization Program, and the CDC’s Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity grant program.

Following our previous letter to Energy and Commerce, ASTHO again wrote to the House Budget Committee opposing a provision that would repeal the Fund, and rescind any unobligated balance.
