The Director’s of Public Health preparedness became an official ASTHO peer group in July 2005. The DPHP are a unique group of individuals who combine the disciplines of public health, clinical medicine, emergency management, and public administration to create a new infrastructure of public health preparedness within state, territorial, and local health agencies. ASTHO supports the DPHP in their mission to provide jurisdiction-based expertise and leadership for public health preparedness as they identify and share useful practices and lessons learned, develop collaborative relationships with partner agencies and organizations, and serve as a resource to the Preparedness Policy Committee in matters of both a strategic and operational nature in the formulation and promotion of sound public health preparedness policy.
