Responding to a virulent pandemic
ASTHO Report on Policy Barriers in the H1N1 Pandemic
About
In early 2009 a new influenza virus surfaced in North America. By mid-June the World Health Organization signaled that a global pandemic of novel influenza A (H1N1) was underway. This action was a reflection of the spread of the new H1N1 virus, not the severity of illness. ASTHO is working with states to respond to a pandemic that combines the spread of H1N1 with an increased rate of morbidity and mortality.State H1N1 Information
