Many infectious diseases are increasingly difficult to treat because because they have become resistant to the antimicrobial agents available.

ASTHO was one of 25 national health organizations, along with CDC, to sign on to a joint statement on antibiotic resistance, presented on the November 13 telebriefing “Uniting To Preserve Antibiotics Effectiveness and Combat Resistance”.
