Application Deadline: Dec. 12, 2013
ASTHO, through support from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for Environmental Health, Healthy Community Design Initiative (CDC/NCEH/HCDI), is pleased to announce this request for proposals for health impact assessment (HIA) capacity building. ASTHO recognizes that the health of communities is determined by a multitude of factors beyond healthcare, and, in many cases, beyond the traditional scope of public health activities. HIA is a promising method of integrating health considerations into policy decisions on a routine basis, and a useful tool to achieve the larger goal of health in all policies. For the fifth year, ASTHO will be providing funding to help enhance state and territorial health agency capacity to understand, conduct, and promote HIA. One award of up to $20,000 will fund and support a state or territorial health agency to build capacity for conducting HIA through a hands-on, project-oriented approach.
An informational conference call will be held on Nov. 19 at 1 p.m. ET to answer questions related to this RFP. Please contact Kerry Wyss for additional details.
