Database Manager

Location: Arlington, VA

Summary: Responsible for accurately entering member data and information into the NetForum database in support of all membership initiatives. Maintains the integrity, security and processing of data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists in maintaining the integrity of the NetForum database with regard to data entry, membership queries and reports that ensure the membership strategies and goals of ASTHO are supported.
  • Identifies and implements structure for membership types, individual roles, groups, etc.
  • Creates standards and policies for users.
  • Updates and maintains accurate database profiles for members in NetForum. This includes multiple processes, i.e., exporting, importing, formatting and testing for accuracy.
  • Works with IT on development and maintenance of membership queries and reports in NetForum.
  • Maintains database integrity through regular audits of membership data which includes conducting weekly quality assurance on the database. Includes, but is not limited to, reviewing new membership records created, address updates, contact entry, etc.
  • Creates and runs queries, exports, and reports as requested to support strategic membership efforts.
  • Identifies and sets up standard reports for staff to run independently for policy committees, etc.
  • Collaborates with IT, as needed, on requirements and needs of the system.
  • Collaborates with MyASTHO administrator, as needed.
  • Provides training and technical assistance to users.
  • Assists with membership data pulls for board reports and committee updates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, business management, or related field.
  • 3-5 years' similar experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and to manage multiple tasks with aggressive deadlines
  • Ability to coordinate and develop multiple projects independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to analyze data and prepare a variety of reports.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience in database administration (NetForum). Knowledge and skills should include data entry, query building, and adherence to data standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
