Congressional Corner

Feb. 16, 2017

Activity on Capitol Hill remains centered around the confirmation process of President Trump’s cabinet nominees. Last week, Representative Tom Price was confirmed as the 23rd Secretary of Health and Human Services. With the secretary confirmed, other HHS leadership positions should be unveiled soon, such as director of CDC and HRSA administrator. As far as ACA repeal and replace efforts, action continues behind-the-scenes between the White House and congressional leadership. The president’s budget is expected to be released at some point in March, and the annual congressional appropriations season begins next month, which coincides with ASTHO Hill Day activities.
